A young 24 yrs old male patient came with complaint of mild pain and some occasional pus discharge from lower back region. He had to undergo a surgery for pilonidal sinus approximately 2 years back. Unfortunately the problem came back soon.
Main complaints:
Mild pain
Occasional pus discharge
Clinical findings:
Hair were shaved at the time of first visit.
A long scar was clearly visible
Hair were coming out from one of the external opening. (Watch video)
1-2 drops of pus was visible.
Addictions
Smoking: No
Alcohol: No
Tobacco chewing: No
History of previous surgery
Underwent general surgery about two years ago.
The problem came back after 4-5 months of surgery.
Medical History
No Significant medical illness.
General findings:
Too much hair around the affected region.
Patient was a brilliant student and had to sit a lot to study.
Family history was absent.
Blood Reports
All blood reports were normal
MRI Findings
3.6 cm long track with 0.5 mm thickness
Therapy
Track was cleaned with Trifla kwath.
Hair were removed
Kshar Sutra was put in the track
Follow up visits
Total 7 follow up visits for Kshar Sutra change.
Medicines
Complete ayurvedic treatment was given for better wound healing.
